Data permanently removed
When we process your deletion request, the following is permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days:
Your profile (name, email, mobile number, address, profile photo)
Account credentials (password hash, push notification tokens, biometric flags)
Vehicle GPS history older than the legal retention window
Alerts, notifications, support messages, document uploads
Driver session logs personally identifying you
Data retained for legal reasons
Indian tax and transport regulations require us to retain some records. We pseudonymise these where possible so they can no longer be tied back to you in everyday operations:
GST invoices & payment records — retained for at least 8 years as required by the Goods & Services Tax Act.
Aggregated trip / distance statistics — anonymised, used only for product analytics. Cannot be reversed back to your identity.
Court-ordered records — only where a binding legal order requires retention.
Three ways to request deletion
In the mobile app
Open the app > Profile > Settings > "Delete Account". Confirm with your password or biometric. The request is queued automatically.

Fill in the form on this page. We email you a confirmation link; click it within 24 hours to finalise the request.
Email us
Write to support@vahanconnect.com from your registered email. Mention "Account Deletion" in the subject.
Submit a request
What happens after you submit
- Day 0: we receive your request and email a confirmation link to your registered address.
- Day 0–1: you click the link to confirm. (Skipping this step cancels the request.)
- Day 1–7: we suspend access to your account. Push notifications stop. You can cancel the deletion in this window by emailing support.
- Day 7–30: personal data is removed from active systems. Encrypted backups are purged on their next rotation cycle (max 90 days).
- Day 30+: only the legally-required records remain. We send a final confirmation email.
Important before you delete
- Your active GPS device subscription will be paused. Vehicles assigned to you will stop reporting to the dashboard.
- Any drivers / staff sub-accounts you created will also lose access.
- You will need to create a new account if you wish to use VahanConnect again later — historical data cannot be restored after deletion.
- If you simply want to stop notifications, you can disable them from your profile without deleting the account.
